SHOHOJOGITA

The organization SHOHOJOGITA is a Bangladesh word which means “to help each other”. It was started by the initiative of a group of youths, committed, dedicated, and experienced craft workers. The principal vision is to change the fate of the rural widowed, divorced, and helpless people by creating adequate employment especially for WOMEN only. The inspiration and concept basically came from the feelings of love and to support the poor people. SHOHOJOGITA dreams to establish of a free society from exploitation, oppression, and injustice as well as where each individual will be able to love and live in peace and a fair share of resources belonging to the community. SHOHOJOGITA is member of Banglacraft, ECOTA Fair Trade Forum and World Fair Trade Organization(wfto). We are producing beautiful crafts and exporting since 2005. Vision Statement : "A society for poverty alleviation and to empower women through skilled employment creation by handicraft production and business based on fair trade principles." The current social and trading aims and objectives:- - To produce different crafts and sales/exports internationally and locally, - To empower the artisans economically, - To organize artisans & provide skill training for producing handicrafts as an additional source of income for their family, - To create employment opportunities for divorced, widowed, and neglected WOMEN only, - To create job opportunities as well as cultural development. I can do the hard work, and make sure our customers and artisans/producers are happy. Actually, I think we all have different experiences that affect the way we approach creativity.
