Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC)

Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC) is a consortium of Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with more than 80 youth NGOs and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), 249 Youth Enterprise Groups (YEGs), and hundreds of youth individuals in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar. TYC mostly works with individuals aged 15 to 35 years old.The consortium's role is to ensure the voice of a young person is being heard at relevant national and international policy platforms. TYC mission is; To build capacity, engage and sensitize youth on sustainable development, and ensure that the voice of youth is heard across decision-making platforms. TYC Vision is; To mobilize a vibrant and proactive youth that are capacitated to realize, vocalize, and implement change for sustainable development. Also, TYC works in facilitating information dissemination, sharing and exchange, Policy analysis, Youth capacity building, lobbying and advocacy. TYC operates under five program areas, which are 1. Youth livelihood and Employment. 2. Youth Livelihood and Environment 3. Youth health and gender 4. Youth leadership and building local democracy 5. Youth exchange and international partnership for sustainable development. TYC has been working on youth interventions for more than ten years in Tanzania. This has been made possible with the support of stakeholders and partners both at national and international levels in advocacy and lobbying to empower youth creativity and innovation such that in building the capacity of young men and women in different areas such as youth livelihood and employment. Also, TYC has been playing an active role in advocating youth rights to participate in electoral processes, contesting leadership position and building local democracy across Tanzania.
