Ukhondo Services Foundation (USEF)

Ukhondo Services Foundation (USEF) is a locally registered community based organization that was registered in August, 2006 Registration number TR/ INC : 2187. Being a community based organization in Malawi it abides by all statuary obligations, that is operating within the confines of the laws of the land. The organization is registered with the Non-governmental organizations Regulatory Authority (NGORA) and this is its registration number:NGO/L/24/046. The organization is also registered with Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and is having Tax Clearance certificate No: MRA/KAR000365 and our Tax payer Identification Number is (TPIN) 20246402. USEF has a secretariat independent of the Board ,composed of the Executive Director, Programs Manager, Finance and Administration Manager, Project Officer and Field Officers. The secretariat is headed by the Executive Director and being supported by 4 full time staff. The Executive Director provides logistical direction as to matters of planning. The Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for all project financial transactions and make sure that financial reports are up to date in readiness for submission to the donor in time. The secretariat is governed by a pro bono board, which oversees program direction and oversight. The organization is having a safeguarding policy and there is a link person who handles issues of safeguarding and the contacts of the link person is known to the organisation target group and there is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with all members of staff with the communities we are working with, also our target group is also aware of safeguarding practices. Mission: To promote interventions that build the wellbeing of under privileged people through capacity development, advocacy and impact mitigation. Vision: To see a community, which is free from poverty, where every individual enjoys freedoms and rights. Organization’s theory of change Being a community based organization works by building capacities of grassroots communities through community structures, influencing policy changes at local level thereby contributing towards policy changes at national level to ensure developments implemented respond to the felt needs of the citizens and improve their livelihood. The organization involves people from target communities in the project management cycle through consultations to know their challenges and come up with possible solutions.
