Undugu Empowerment Programs

About Us Undugu Empowerment Programs (UEP) is a rural-based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adolescent girls, women, and youth in low-income communities through integrated education, health, and livelihood programs. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Busia County, Kenya, UEP envisions a society where every girl, woman, and youth thrive with dignity, education, and economic empowerment. We believe that sustainable community transformation begins when women and young people are equipped with opportunities to learn, earn, and lead. Our programs are designed to restore dignity, promote self-reliance, and break the cycles of poverty and gender inequality in underserved rural regions. Our Mission To restore dignity, expand opportunities, and foster self-reliance among girls, women, and youth through transformative community initiatives in education, menstrual health, and sustainable livelihoods. Leading Undugu Empowerment Programs in rural Kenya has shown me that challenges in education, mental health equity, menstrual dignity, teen motherhood, and healthcare workforce development are interconnected and require collective, cross-sector solutions.
