Public Institution Science and Innovation for Society has been educating people of different ages and educational backgrounds for more than two decades by organizing and implementing various non-commercial projects, including the National Science Festival Spaceship Earth, and by producing science communication television programs. Our organization presents the latest technologies and trends, highlights scientific achievements, strengthens teachers’ abilities to transfer up-to-date knowledge to young people, and promotes interaction between the “two cultures” - science and art. Its activities bring the scientific community closer to society, encourage young people to pursue research careers, responsibly shape their futures, and become active contributors to public well-being. We also operate as a collaborative network connecting Lithuanian educational institutions (universities, colleges, schools), technology and other business companies, non-governmental organizations, and cultural and arts institutions. When developing programs and activities, we approach challenges from multiple perspectives and propose innovative formats.
- For two decades, we were partners in the projects Creation and Implementation of the National Science Popularization Measures System and Development and Implementation of the National Science Popularization System.
- We have organized 22 editions of the Science Festival Spaceship Earth, held across Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland.
- For more than ten years, we have produced science communication television programs and reports. The TV show Curiosity Gene (Smalsumo genas) has been broadcast on Lithuanian National Television (LRT) for seven years.
- Commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania, in 2017 we organized the international seminar-discussion Contemporary Science Museums and Centers: Their Content and Activities in Kaunas. The event contributed to developing the concept for Lithuania’s science museum Mokslo Sala.
- In 2006, we were partners of the European science festival WONDERS.
- In 2008, together with Latvian and Estonian partners, we implemented the European science communication TV project Futureshock, broadcast on Lithuanian, Estonian, and Latvian television channels.
- In 2021, we were partners of the project Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022.
As Aistė, my relationship with this organization started long before it became my professional work. I joined as a volunteer while still in high school and, over the years, continued growing alongside its mission and community. What kept me connected was the belief that science, education, and human connection can genuinely shape how societies evolve. Since then, I’ve studied and lived abroad, explored areas such as sustainability, leadership, and systems thinking, and worked across international programs, NGOs, businesses and global communities. In my latest work with Ashoka and Ashoka Changemaker Companies, I designed leadership journeys, built communities, and supported collaborations that help people move from ideas to meaningful social and environmental impact. What motivates me most is creating spaces where people from different worlds can come together, think differently, and build futures that are more regenerative, inclusive, and human.
