ZEITZ foundation

Founded by Jochen Zeitz in 2008, the ZEITZ foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Kenya and Germany, dedicated to inspiring and achieving the highest standards in sustainability through a balance of Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce (the 4Cs) in privately managed areas. The ZEITZ foundation is based in Central Laikipia, Kenya. Our mission is to create and support ecologically and socially responsible projects that holistically balance the 4Cs to achieve long lasting impact and sustainability. Our vision is of an ecosphere - our planet and all of its life-sustaining regions - maintained in the healthiest possible state, with the major contribution to that health coming from people making sustainable choices.

What do we hope to contribute? The Zeitz Foundation brings a unique 4Cs approach—Community, Culture, Conservation, and Commerce—to sustainability. We hope to share our experience in women’s economic empowerment, community-led conservation, and land restoration, while contributing insights on linking local impact to global goals like the SDGs. What do we hope to receive? We seek to learn from peer organizations, explore collaborations, and gain new tools and frameworks to strengthen our programs
