Europe Chapter

The Europe Chapter is dedicated to addressing issues relevant to the European continent. Its primary goal is to facilitate the efforts of its members and the broader ecosystem of changemakers in the region. By creating spaces, tools, and resources, the Chapter accelerates the exchange of ideas and opportunities, enabling both individual and collective action. Additionally, it promotes the emergence of innovative practices and policies that advance the development of a fair, green, and inclusive society—ensuring that no one is left behind. The Chapter focuses exclusively on regional matters, working collaboratively with a diverse array of ecosystem actors while maintaining independence from national and local chapters. Strategic Focus 1. Empowering changemakers and fostering collaboration by creating platforms and tools that enable their success. 2. Enhancing information and opportunity flow across the region to facilitate impactful action. 3. Amplifying the voice of social innovators in regional policymaking and advocacy. 4. Strengthening social innovation ecosystems by: - Establishing networks in areas where they are underdeveloped (e.g., Eastern Europe and the Balkans). - Building connections and bridges within mature ecosystems (e.g., Western Europe).

Dear Sir/Madam I am writing to express my deep passion for the work that we do at the African Children and Youth Development Network (ACYDN). As the founder of this organization, I am committed to improving the lives of children and young people in Africa, and I believe that our work can serve as a catalyst for positive change across the continent. At ACYDN, we are dedicated to empowering young people to become leaders in their communities and to advocating for their rights. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, healthcare, and basic human rights, and we work tirelessly to ensure that these needs are met. We recognize that our mission is not an easy one, but we are motivated by the knowledge that our work has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of countless children and young people across Africa. We are constantly seeking new partnerships and collaborations that will help us to achieve our goals, and we are committed to remaining at the forefront of the fight for youth empowerment and development. As the founder of ACYDN, I am proud to be part of a team that is making a real impact on the lives of young people in Africa. I am convinced that our work can serve as a catalyst for positive change, and I would be honored to have your support as we continue to pursue our mission. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Ebenezer S. Thomas Founder, African Children and Youth Development Network (ACYDN)

I believe in the importance of ‘democratising digital’ which stems from my 25 years as a C-Level consulting, operations management and business development professional – latterly at global IT outsourcer Capgemini – where I was seconded to the ethical business charity BITC as a Business Connector. This fuelled my ambition to uncover the untapped potential of young (and older) people - many from disadvantaged black and minority homes – who are most often those furthest away from mainstream education and good work, and place them at the heart of creating lasting equity. and change by developing their employability and supporting their journey to a job.

I would like to support as many Non-Catalyst members as possible in overcoming any fundraising challenges they face and overcome together the funding gap, channelling more funding to local or grassroots organizations. I am also a Chartered Civil Engineer and specialist in Climate Resilience, Flood Risk Management and Water Resource Management and would love to connect with and support any member organizations driving change / shifting narratives in this space. Finally, I am a proud mother of one and advocate for equal rights for women in the workplace. I am keen system thinker. Always looking for new ways to work across disciplines to find mutually beneficial solutions to wicker problems. Reach out if you’d like to chat!!!

I was first attracted to the focus on collaboration - networking, sharing and learning - around the SDGs. I admire the diversity of the community; it's easy to join groups where we are all laser focused on one topic/issue, but it can be incredibly helpful to take a step back and engage with and learn from others that are working in different spaces. The Catalyst community offers a great opportunity to expand my network, knowledge and sphere of influence around topics that I am passionate about.

It can be exhausting leading social change. It can also be incredible. It is needed - as where we are as a society feels like it is in an in-between moment of flex. More than ever we need positive strategic direction, change leadership and doership. We know the old society we had isn't working for us with behaviours, social structures and systems that are past their use-by date. Yet we haven't yet collectively worked out and embedded the behaviours, systems and structures that we need and that will provide a fairer and more sustainable society. I'm looking for better ways to work in and lead social change, in my case in the area of disability inclusion. This includes better ways to more deeply understand, prioritise, act and collaborate with others addressing similar or the same challenges. I'd also like to support others as it is only together that we can get to a new set of behaviours, norms, structures and systems that will work more fairly and sustainably. Also, I'm happy to share lessons I've learned the hard way on the way and save others from repeating them!

I am passionate about people empowerment. Each human being is a leader and changer-maker that the world needs now. People only need to reconnect with their potential and purpose and bring their uniqueness to the table of the co-creators. However, too often we fail to reach our common goals, not because of the lack of money or public policies, but because too many people do not feel good and strong enough to be on that journey to create change. The first barriers we must overcome are our human insecurities. Only a mass of empowered people will be able to trigger the bottom-up dynamics that we are missing.

My name is Holly Bartley, and I hold a Master’s 1 degree in design and sustainable innovation. I am passionate about using design to drive social change, and I believe that Catalyst 2030 is the perfect place for me to contribute to a purpose-driven community. Over a year ago, Daisy Bartlett welcomed me into the Catalyst 2030 community. Since then, I have had the privilege of joining various seminars and conversations organized by the Catalyst 2030 team and members, gaining invaluable insights into the world of social innovation, and meeting some amazing social entrepreneurs, such as Terence A. Asitibasi, who recently welcomed me as a volunteer partnerships & development manager for Tolerantia Reach, an NGO part of the Catalyst 2030 members. With seven years of background in design and professional experience conducting research, using participatory design, and being part of the ongoing evolution of a learning ecosystem for social innovators. I have been part of projects working alongside public services and governments to shift practices and enable structural and systemic change constantly questioning paradigms. I am interested in influencing practices and designing sustainable systems to meet the growing needs of the Catalyst 2030 community.

I am a passionate intersectional social entrepreneur, committed to shaping a future that places people and the planet at the centre of all decisions. As a keen advocate for systemic and sustainable impact in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, I wish to join Catalyst2030 in fostering a world that honours and respects diverse ways of life. I strive to represent and bridge gaps in multiple communities through intersectionality. As the founder of Voicing Voices, an intersectionality start-up, I fully understand the power of co-creation and the necessity of acknowledging our biases. I'm eager to bring my experience to Catalyst2030 to break down silos and inspire the design and development of innovative solutions. Leadership, to me, is about collective impact and shared ownership. I am dedicated to crafting strategies that reflect this belief and address the multifaceted challenges we face. With a collaborative approach, we can co-create an equitable future, anchored in shared norms and mutual respect. In line with Catalyst2030's value, I recognise the audacity of our goals and the humility it requires to achieve them. I am aware that none of us can craft the path towards these goals alone, and am eager to collaborate and contribute to the collective wisdom of the Catalyst2030 community. Thank you for the opportunity to actively contribute to shaping a world where social justice, environmental sustainability, and ethical governance are more than ideals; they're the norms. Together, we can humanise system and champion inclusion in a way that’s sustainable for current and future generations. So yep that’s me :D I love all things system related, the SDGs and activating action that leads to co-creation for sustainable and systemic impact

Metamorphany Changemakers

 s-Hertogenbosch (NLD) and Malaga (ESP)

With Metamorphany Changemakers our purpose is to catalyse and cultivate holistic well-being for people and planet. I believe that this is only possible when we ensure the realisation of the SDGs, all of them holistically. It is not only my professional calling, but a highly personal one. I have worked in different fields, from human rights and humanitarian work in the field in post-conflict countries and disaster response areas, to innovation and coaching related work in the boardrooms of corporations, I have lived and worked in more than ten countries across all continents and have seen the unfortunate ripples of the systems we have created as humans, from immense poverty and inequity to tortured human rights activists and the death and despair after natural disasters. I not only believe we can do better, i know we can. And I know that I have to take the responsibility to share and activate my skills and whole self to help myself and others create a better world, one we all want to live in. Our family is one with a mix of cultures and backgrounds, from the Netherlands where I was born and raised to the Philippines where my wife was born and raised, to the commonwealth influences of Australia and Canada where our three children spent their primary years. Our children and the image of their children and all youth and future generations are my personal driver that makes me get up every morning, at all cost, even though it is sometimes hard knowing that I'd be able to earn ten times more if I'd go back to the corporate world. I genuinely believe that humans as a species are good, and that, together, we will find our way. Like Mark Twain said "Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.". As an innovation coach trained in mindfulness, happiness and well-being, I feel priviliged to be part of the large community of Catalyst working with all of you to co-create a better world. Thank you all for being YOU, and for standing tall for what you believe in. With gratitude and grace, Michael

Our aim is to make use of Catalyst 2030's incredible networks in order to engage employees in two regions: LATAM and ASIA. Our goal is to use our people's highest and best abilities to generate opportunities for change. No one individual, business, or country can bring about change on its own. We want to collaborate with our employees, clients, communities and other stakeholders across the globe to address the enormous issues of our time. Hello everyone! I am an independent scholar-practitioner, university lecturer, facilitator, coach, and consultant working at the intersection of entrepreneurial learning, identity development, transformative pedagogy, and relational approaches to management education. I’m also a polymath and a Renaissance person at heart. Therefore my strength lies in my ability to synthesis ideas and concepts, combining two or more fields or perspectives - creating something new at the intersection. As a global movement that connects social innovators, enables collaboration, and accelerates systemic change toward the Sustainable Development Goals, it is here where I find synergy with Catalyst Now. My objective is to enlarger my circle, create connections with like-minded change agents, and gain insights which can fuel my approaches in the classroom, in the meeting room, and in the community circle. My hope is to contribute to and in turn, to be enriched by this community. As an example, I recently completed my Doctorate of Business Administration at GEM Alpine Business School, where my research explored how Indigenous-infused entrepreneurial learning environments shape how socially and ecologically minded entrepreneurs understand themselves, what they become responsible to, and how those shifts move into practice. The study also examines the learning conditions that catalyzed identity transformation in practice, including intentionally designed containers, relational accountability, story, embodied learning, and the presence of Elders, facilitators, and culture carriers. Across my work, I am interested in how scholarship can be returned to practice: in classrooms, organizations, community circles, coaching conversations, and public inquiry. A fuller public-facing account of my thesis and related work is available at The Seasoned Self: https://www.theseasonedself.com/rooted-inquiry.html. And if your interests connected to consulting, executive education, coaching, or organizational learning, venture over to my sister site Business Sense Consulting: https://www.business-sense-consulting.com

The programs we run at RefuSHE are targeted at empowering vulnerable refugee girls and young women in urban areas and any opportunity to deepen the impact of our programs and reach even more refugee girls and young women is always something I jump to invest time and effort in. Catalyst 2030 gives me a platform for knowledge sharing to deepen impact of programs that champion for women empowerment through education, gender, mental health and livelihoods.

I'm the founder of www.earth-changers.com - tourism for sustainable development. I was the first commercial company in the world to write about the intersection of travel and the SDGs and have been fundamental in driving the message in the global tourism sector. We partner with and promote accommodations and tour operators whose operations are created on purpose to deliver SDG benefits in their destinations. This means you can take a trip safe in the knowledge your place to stay is benefitting its local people and places (where as most tourism is exploitative), and we do the hard work - researching, discerning and curating positive impact operations to which consumers wouldn't usually have access to behind-the-scenes management and impact information and you can just get on and have a lovely holiday! We have a limited number of places on our site, but hundreds behind the scenes. So if you have a destination in mind, just ask us! https://www.earth-changers.com/travel-with-us
